Who's Who

Respiratory Nurse - Rebecca Sherrington

I'm the respiratory nurse specialist who provides professional advice for patients with lung problems on Guernsey and Alderney.

I am also a member of lungevity providing medical advice and support to the group.

I would recommend you join - it's a brilliant group and has helped local's with lung disease enormously.

Treasurer - Tracy Shields

My mum was diagnosed with COPD about 2 1/2 years ago and was told by Becky Sherrington about the Breatheeasy group (now lungevity)..

She was very keen to meet other people in a similar situation and I thought it would also be good for me to understand the challenges she might have in front of her and to meet others in a similar situation.

Before long my mum became treasurer of the group but unfortunately she became too ill to continue. I was delighted to be able to take over from her and have been doing the job of treasurer for just over a year.

Unfortunately my mum passed away last year but I have met so many lovely people I have decided to continue my involvement with the group.

Chair - Colin Le Goupillot

I am 64 years old and seven years ago I was diagnosed with COPD and my breathing was reduced to only 46% capacity. I met Becky (the respiratory nurse) and after a while, I joined Lungevity about 2 years ago. I took over as secretary early last year and have since become the charity's contact for the Guernsey Association of Charity's and the Guernsey Disability Alliance.

The group meetings are very relaxed and informal and are monthly on the third Friday of the month. I am only too please for any body to contact me on 251401 for an informal chat.
